Our Founder and Medical Director - Dr. Shari Moore, DPM
Dr. Shari Moore is the founder of Janus Lower Extremity Pain Center, bringing over 30 years of experience in foot and ankle surgery to the practice.
Originally from Elgin, Illinois, Dr. Sharilyn Moore earned her undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She obtained her doctorate from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. She completed her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Dr. Shari Moore joined Allina Health at the health care system’s inception. As the second podiatrist joining the corporation, she was pivotal in integrating podiatric medicine and surgery into this multi-specialty, family practice-based organization. During her tenure with Allina, Dr. Moore provided a wide array of services to treat foot and ankle conditions both clinically and surgically. In addition, Dr. Moore collaborated with her podiatric surgery partners to develop and expand lower extremity limb salvage services at Allina Health’s Twin Cities metro hospitals.
Throughout her career, Dr. Sharilyn Moore has recognized patterns among patients with chronic lower extremity pain. This pain was often dismissed by other professionals as normal activity-related, post-trauma, or psychosomatic discomfort. She discovered that much of this lower leg/ankle/foot pain was nerve-related and could be effectively treated. This realization led her to pursue advanced training, earning a fellowship from the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons. She has also obtained specialized training in microsurgery and ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve injections.
Dr. Shari Moore continues to seek international and multidisciplinary collaboration and education. She is a member of the Global Nerve Foundation and is an associate member of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve. She continues to mentor and train residents as an affiliate teaching staff member with the Hennepin Healthcare Podiatric Medicine and Surgery residency program. She has joined the teaching faculty with the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons.
By incorporating her specialized nerve skills with her extensive general foot and ankle lower extremity clinical and surgical experience, Dr. Sharilyn Moore can provide a higher level of care for her patients. She offers a fresh perspective to chronic lower extremity pain issues.
Her passion for helping individuals suffering from nerve pain in the foot, ankle, and lower extremity inspired her to establish Janus LEPC with a mission to offer solutions for pain caused by nerve entrapments in the lower leg, ankle, and foot.

Dr. Moore was incredibly patient with me and took the time to evaluate all possible causes of my condition. The results that I have seen since my diagnosis have been amazing. I am pain-free now and am back to being a kid. I highly recommend Dr. Moore!

What is a Podiatrist?
A podiatrist is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) with a specialty in treating ailments affecting the feet, ankles, and lower leg. They provide both conservative and surgical treatment options for these conditions. They work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Dr. Moore has also become a Fellow of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons. This designation requires the completion of nerve-focused training and the documentation of competence through case submissions to a peer review committee.
